Everyone Seems To Be Worried About Brexit Except for Home Buyers

Brexit is of course still running the top of the majority of headlines in news reports. It is, as it should be, a concern of all and especially for consumers. Caution prevails in many areas of the different markets, yet one in particular has surprised a large number of experts. Home buyers seem to have lost patience and are throwing caution to the wind and focusing on their own futures and personal goals of climbing onto the property ladder.

The housing market was flooded with expectations of gloom and doom with Brexit. Sellers were likely the most worried, followed by homeowners that feared a loss in their earned equity. Hopeful home movers were expected to put off any action and stay put for a time, and as for home buyers they were due to thin out, for demand to decrease, and the rarest of all in the housing market would be first time buyers.

However, month after month, the housing market has held its own against the pessimistic outlooks. Homeowners have continued to benefit from the housing market and many have watched their equity levels perform generously. Sellers have been assertive to get buyers, and buyers have been keen to take advantage of lower asking prices and low interest rates offered with mortgages.

The fact that home buyers have not disappeared, but are shopping and buying, has been a delightful surprise to some experts, has confounded others, and for some it came as no surprise that the dream to homeownership would not die easily. Now that summer is officially here on the calendar, it is expected that those that have considered buying a home will become more serious to do so, and the housing market might very well surprise even more.
