Remortgage Still Offers Substantial Benefits to UK House Owners

Data recently uncovered points ominously at the real possibility of a downturn in the UK housing market which could lead to even fewer homes constructed in the coming years. This fall in the number of completed houses will exacerbate the housing crisis even further with no real solution remaining in sight except building more houses. Uncertainty in the market following the Brexit vote has led to a fall in the number of houses built. The remortgage sector however, continues to provide house owners with a real opportunity to save money each month.

The days following the vote have been filled with less confidence in every corner of the market, according to data which has surfaced in recent days. The remortgage market still offers many attractive deals to house owners looking for a lower interest rate and access to home equity which can be put to good use.

House building on the other hand is now suffering with many close to the market seeing this as the beginning days of a slowdown to the construction of so many houses which are in dire need of being built.

The director of the National Housing Federation David Orr commented on the latest data to be released, saying: "Uncertain times call for pragmatism and flexibility."

Orr added: "Today, the sector puts forward a plan of action for the prime minister to keep the nation building and tackle the housing crisis. It is a plan that comes at no extra cost to the taxpayer and one that will improve the life chances of hundreds of thousands of working people in this country."
