Renters Find Optimism for Home Ownership Challenging

A recent survey has uncovered frank opinions regarding the future of home ownership both in London and across the country. The survey, conducted by the Observer discovered almost 70% of all who participated believe a housing crisis is taking place right now. Another 71% believe home ownership is so out of reach the only way of obtaining it would be to have the assistance of a family member. These figures come as a surprise due to the public message which is broadcast regarding the UK housing market.

Many UK citizens believe home ownership is a thing of the past. A jaw-dropping 40% who took part in the survey believe they will never own a home during their lifetime. More than 25% at least believe it will take them more than 5 years to reach the milestone. These figures are in hard contrast to the message of David Cameron.

A mainstream belief creating these sentiments is how foreign investment has taken its toll on the price for property. Couple that with the shortage of supply of affordable housing and the recipe for increases to house prices comes into full focus.

Those who are currently house owners are a fortunate group. Not only is house ownership financially advantageous, but tools available today make ownership a fine investment for the future.

Remortgage is also a benefit to home ownership. Lenders are still in heavy competition to offer attractive deals with low interest rates attached. They are even offering deals with low administration fees.

A remortgage can improve the bottom line of most family budgets by securing a lower interest rate for the future and make it possible to access funds which are stored in home equity.

For future home owners it is suggested a remortgage always be a consideration to help keep a mortgage payment as low as possible.
