Remortgage lending experts are expecting there to be a higher number of retired homeowners seeking to remortgage. The reasons behind this are many as some are likely to desire cash release from built up equity, others will seek to secure a lower interest rate, while there are others that may have totally unique reasons for a new deal. However, the biggest reason of all may be that lenders are offering them options and not shutting them out of a remortgage opportunity due to their age.

Lenders are looking to find niche markets and retired homeowners seem like a safe bet for them. Not only are they probably more financially smart and savvy, but they are exceptionally well known for being responsible in their repayments.

Lenders are going to have to offer very attractive deals to grab the attention of borrowers that may have already paid off their home and of those that have been comfortable and loyal with their current lender. Because of the need to be attention grabbing, it will mean lenders will roll out the carpet to retired homeowners offering deals not seen in the past.

Those in the retired and aging category of consumers are living healthier and more active lives than perhaps their parents or grandparents did.
