New Homes Will Aid Recovery

The future of home development in the UK is getting a boost from an existing housing investment program. The funding from this existing program will enable more than 7,100 homes for rent or ownership to be built. Housing minister Alex Neil, said: "This funding will be targeted at accelerating construction-starts and will enable at least 800 new homes to go on site earlier than planned this year. It will inject renewed confidence in Scotland’s building industry and help to tackle homelessness."
Recent Budget cuts from the UK Government has stifled growth in the home building sector, so the challenge remains in hot to get homes built out of less cash. Despite the budget cuts their goal is still to approve the building of over 21,000 homes across the country. Graeme Brown, Director of Housing Charity Shelter Scotland, said: "This is good news for the near 155,000 households stuck on waiting lists across Scotland". The infusion of these new homes will not only help stimulate the housing industry, it will help to improve the value of homes in the areas near the newly constructed ones. Businesses will grow due to the higher population that is brought in with new housing. New patrons will be brought in to the area and new businesses will develop to accommodate the services needed by the new owners and renters. Residents in the area will find home values to increase as new businesses and school improvements develop to handle the new population. This new valuation in homes will help those trying to build equity in their current homes. Therefore an increase of overall population in residence as well as business districts will be nothing but beneficial for the country’s entire economic recovery. With the all the positives that could occur with these new 7,100 homes, not to mention making affordable housing available to those without it, as well as boosting the construction industry, it is hoped those in charge find a way to make the cash stretch to help the project see fruition.
